A detailed photo etch fret designed for Eduard’s 1/48 Yak 3 is the chief attraction in this new product from the Czech aftermarket accessory manufacturer Brengun Accessories.

The PE fret contains seatbelts and instrument panel, a clear film piece with instruments and a single, tiny, resin part for the instrument panel.

The one page pictorial instruction sheet aids assembly but is a bit confusing as the number callouts for some PE parts do not match the numbers on the fret. Also there are no colour callouts with the instructions.
However by utilising parts from the Eduard kit, enhanced by Brengun’s add-ons, a detailed cockpit can be had for a relatively modest outlay.

 

 

Without having the Eduard kit to hand, a first look-type review cannot speculate on how well the detail set parts can be incorporated into the Eduard model, so test fitting will be crucial.

The clear film insert with the cockpit dials is designed to be sandwiched behind the photo etch instrument panel. 

 

 

Personally, I think that the dials look too dark and indistinct and in this scale, and I doubt they will be seen.

 

 

Conclusion

 

Eduard’s Yak 3 will benefit from the seat harnesses alone in this pack.

Recommended for detail enthusiasts.
