Please permit me to present our "gorgeous" creation: USS Abraham Lincoln - CVN 72 in 1/144 scale depictted in the Pacific Ocean during RIMPAC 2000 - September 2000.
The model is 2.40 meters long and 0.6 meter wide.
The hull and superstructure (cardboard), tow tractors and "tilly crane" (very proud of it!!!) ar all scratch built.
The flight deck includes 47 aircraft (plastic and resin) and 4 helicopters.
Please note the following:
-
350 crew members (with colored shirts) on the deck
-
the model is built in waterline configuration
-
the deck is heavily weathered and dirty (fuel, grease....); Anchor rusty; hull is dirty too.
-
I designed the model with my 2 children (aged 9 and 11) over a period of 2 years.
Special thanks to: Starfighter Decals, Tom's Modelworks, Gold Medal Models, Airalex and L'Arsenal.
Best regards from France.
Robin, Yohan and Patrick.
