Here is another from my collection of 1/72 MiG aircraft. This is the very earliest jet MiG——Fargo, serving in the PLAAF and now displayed in the Chinese Military Air Musuem, Datangshan, Beijing.
A-Model provides a very accurate shape and quite good details (compared to the other East European kits) of the Fargo. I made the kit straight from the box except for replacing the guns and pitot tube with brass rods.
The canopy is too thick and does not fit the fuselage, so I sanded it with a round sanding rod from inside. In the end I might have been better off replacing it with a vacuum formed part.
Other parts assembled smoothly, but be sure to surface the kit before painting as the plastic material is semi-clear.
I'll recommend this kit to those who are interested in early MiGs and want to begin with some "rough" while "rare" East European kits.
Hope you'll enjoy it.
