Description

Here are some images of my Wingnut Wings 1/32 scale Junkers J.1 that will be appearing in the August issue of Military In Scale.

Boy, this is some kit!

Much has been said about Wingnut Wings kits and all of it appears to be true. No hype here, the kits speak for themselves. Admittedly I've only got the experience of this kit to go by but judging by what I've seen of the other three releases, they look very special too. Out of the box there's little more - if anything - that you need to add to produce a stunning kit, but super-detailers will no doubt still be able to make this something extra special. All I added were a few extra engine details.

Painting the beast was a joy.

A lot of fuss has been made about the short ailerons on this kit but a few very basic modelling procedures will enable you to rectify the fault - don't be put off! What's more, no rigging!

The models would appear to be quite expensive (particularly if you're having to pay the extra tax and handling in the UK), but at some point in your lifetime you deserve to treat yourself once, and buying any one of these kits in the future might be just the thing. Anyway, just look at the way that some of the prices of smaller scale kits are beginning to creep up. You get a lot of model for your money here.

Clear a room, or build an extension for that Gotha!
