Quickboost continues its prolific release schedule with a number of recent
releases in 1/48 scale.
All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with
minimal cleanup required. Consistent with Quickboost's philosophy to
date, each set has been designed with a minimum of
parts, and should be straightforward to assemble:
1/48 scale
QB 48 196 - F6F-5N Hellcat Conversion Set for Eduard
This is a simple but effective conversion to transform Eduard's 1/48 scale F6F-5 Hellcat into the night fighter variant.
In addition to the large wing mounted radome, this compact yet comprehansive set includes flame damping exhausts and gun barrels, plus radar scope for the kit instrument panel.
QB 48 197 - Fi 156 Storch Bulkhead for Tamiya
QB 48 199 - Fi 156 Storch Radio Equipment
Two simple replacements for the cockpit bulkhead and radio gear in Tamiya's excellent Fi 156 Storch kit.
QB 48 198 - P-51D Mustang Landing Flaps for Tamiya
Quickboost has released a set of "dropped" landing flaps for Tamiya's P-51D Mustang. The kit flaps feature a step along the top of the parts to allow them to be posed either dropped or up. The Quickboost replacement flaps have eliminated this inaccurate step.
QB 48 200 - P-39Q Airacobra Gun Barrels for Hasegawa
These are straight replacement for Hasegawa's kit parts. The barrels feature precise cooling jackets and are hollow at the ends.
QB 48 201 - Messerschmitt Bf 109 F Gun Barrels for Hasegawa
Here is a set of finely cast replacement machine gun barrels for Hasegawa's Bf 109 F cowl guns. These are moulded as a single staggered part as a direct replacement for the somewhat clunky kit machine guns. Quickboost's machine guns are hollow at the ends.
QB 48 202 - Yak-3 Undercarriage Covers for Eduard
Replacements for Eduard's 1/48 scale -3 undercarriage doors, with excellent detail on the interior and no moulding marks.
QB 48 203 - Su-15 Air Scoops for Trumpeter
Hollowed out replacements for the air scoops on Trumpeter's kit.
QB 48 204 - Messerschmitt Bf 110 C/E Starboard Engine for Eduard
This is a clever and beautifully detailed starboard engine for Eduard's gorgeous Bf 110 C and E kits. It will also be suitable for the Bf 110 D kit due for release in November. The upper three-quarters of the engine will be visible when the parts are assembled.
The engine is cast in a single resin piece with plumbing and other features in place. The lower supports for the engine bearers are separate pieces, and replacement cowl parts with internal structural details are also supplied.
Careful painting should result in an eye catching hughlight to Eduard's kit.
