This was my first try at a 21st Century Toys kit. The overall look of the model reminds me of those few 1/32 scale Matchbox kits in a way.
Reading Brett's review of the 21C 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 G, it seems that the plastic of my example was quite hard in comparison - a sort of 'industrial-grade' plastic, not
the softer sort of styrene.
The kit was supplied by a fellow modeler and was built basically straight from the box. The only 'additions' were new wheels and
a seat harness.
A few 'deletions' were made - I filled in some of the heavier panel lines and removed the exaggerated detail above
the exhaust area.
Checking out every 202-205 article in the HyperScale archives was both useful and inspirational - much fine work and detailed research.
The only 'in-front-of-me' reference I had was an article on the 202 in Dec. 1976 Koku-Fan - a number of good pics and large profile
and line drawings by K.Hashimoto.
The oil cooler and radiator were retro-fitted. The landing gear struts, meant to be integral and folding were secured after painting
using 5-minute epoxy.
A brilliant explosion of hindsight upon finishing the painting informed me that I wasn't satisfied with the
wing dihedral - both had managed to attach themselves in an almost dead flat position. And so to create the needed eqilibrium I cleverly applied the wing 'fasces' starboard decal in the axe blades facing inwards - thus distracting the eye from the dihedral problem and the less than satisfactory angle of the wheel struts.
I was happy to be finished.
