Spitfire Mk.XIVc

Supermarine Spitfire XIVc

Academy's 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.XIVc is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here are some pictures of my just completed 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.XIVc. I utilised parts from 4 kits & other sources as follows:

  • Spinner - courtesy Dave (thanks!).

  • Academy - Nose cowlings (cut & shut job), fin & rudder, prop blades & undercarriage.

  • Italieri - wings.

  • Tamiya Mk.V - fuselage, cockpit, front & rear canopy & tailplane.

  • Hasegawa - tailwheel housing. Falcon Vacform - centre canopy.

  • Aeroclub - exhausts.

All the above were altered to suit the demands of scale & my interpretation of realism, which I hope I've achieved.

Paints are from Gunze & Aeromaster, with decals from various spares.
