Nakajima Ki-43 II Oscar

by Yasushi Saito

Nakajima Ki-43 II early version, Hayabusa”Oscar”

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Ki-43 II is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here is Fine Molds’ Nakajima Ki-43 II early version in 1/48 scale. This aircraft was flown by Lt. Yohei Hinoki, 3rd Chutai leader of the 64th Hiko-Sentai in Mingaladon Airfield, Burma, November 1943.

This kit is a limited edition including a large decal sheet comprising a complete camouflage scheme in addition to the kit.

My Oscar was built almost straight from the box and used the kit decal except the national insignias. I carefully applied the camouflage scheme decals using Gunze Mr. Mark Softer and Mr. Mark Setter.

This process will easily bring the beautifully camouflaged Hayabusa “Oscar” to any skill level of modelers.
