Description

Here's something a bit more traditional than penciled airbrushes. This one goes back a couple years.

Except for the nice white metal exhausts from the Mk.IV (CP13) kit, this is the Hasegawa Beaufighter Mk.X (CP14) pretty much stock out of the box.

I found it to be a very nice kit, although the seven piece fuselage breakdown requires some careful fitting.

I finished it in kit markings, though I masked the fuselage codes with Parafilm (while still on the decal sheet) and painted them the same sky color I applied to the undersurfaces. I think this was Xtracolor's interpretation with some white added.

Upper surfaces were Testor's 1138 gloss medium gray (in the 1/4 oz bottle.)

The black half of the invasion stripes comes as decal, but I masked and painted both black and white. The decals provided handy width reference.

Cowl rings and exhaust were Testor's gloss brown with some chrome silver added for a metallic look.
