Italeri's 1/48 scale ACH-47A Armed Chinook
is available online from
Squadron
Here is my 1/48 Boeing
YHC-1B.
This is a conversion of
the 1/48 scale ACH-47A from Italeri.

I looking for something
different from the green stuff and while searching photos on Internet I
found a beautiful image of a white and orange Chinook. Love at first
glance!
The conversion is not
difficult:
-
close and reopen
the oblos on the sides (two on the right side and one on the other),
-
change the rear
gear legs (I used two from the front gear of the Italeri's Phantom)
and match to that the wheels from Monogram's Phantom (four!),

-
modified the
pilot's seats,
-
and most
challenging, sourcing the decals!
I found most in my spare
box and the remain from the model sheet.
Inside there is a Jeep
from Revell's CH53. It is not most obvious, but it is there!

The painting is not
difficult either - three layers of white and two of orange.
Comparing the model with
the ACH-47A is an interesting contrast of colors.
